Education
I received my undergraduate degree from Brown University and my MD from SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn. I completed my residency training in Family Medicine at Swedish Hospital in Seattle and am Board Certified in Family Medicine by the ABFM.
Interests
I have a strong interest in women's health, child and adolescent health and mental health. For four years I worked closely with therapists and nutritionists at an eating disorders program to provide comprehensive care for those struggling with anorexia, bulimia and obesity. I believe in treating adolescents as individuals with a right to privacy and will always ask to see them alone at some point during their visit. Confidentiality is maintained as long as they are posing no health risk to themselves or others.
I enjoy a collaborative approach to health care with practitioners of complimentary and alternative medicine including practitioners of acupuncture, homeopathy and herbal medicine. I also respect a family's right to make their own decisions about vaccinations and will let you know where I stand in regards to the safety of different treatments.
